Hey y’all! I know I have been away for a bit but I am back now and hoping to post more often 😉
As you know I live in the south and I cannot believe that it snowed here the other day! I have not seen snow since winter of ’09 while living in Kansas. I think someone had said we got about 3 inches!!!
All of our dogs (minus the oldest) had not experienced snow before. Ben our BIG boy was very nervous but soon found it to be fun. He wanted to be outside most of the day. He even jumped around and was trying to catch the snowflakes!
Today I am sharing a card I created using Queen and Co. Christmas Tree Shaker Kit. I cannot tell you enough how amazing this kit is!
I had decided to give the company a try after I had come across their website the other day. I am so surprised at how great the kits are (or at least the one I got).
As you can see from the image above you get everything you need to create super cute shaker cards. I think the best thing about the kit is that it comes with a very sturdy die to use with your Big Shot. The dies are able to cut through the foam that is used to create the shaker card!
Can you believe the deal that sizzix is offering right now? I am already filling a cart with so many awesome items to gift this Holiday and of course to keep for myself (how could I not, right?). You can click the image to go to the Sizzix website or Sizzix
As some of you may know, my husband has been serving our country in the military for some time now. Well, it is time for him to hang up his helmet and put away his boots. Yep, that’s right, he is retiring after almost 27 years!!!!
To celebrate I am going to be giving away a complete set of the 2016-2018 Incolors ink pads and a complete set of 2016-2018 Incolor Markers. So what does that mean.. well that 2 people who enter have the chance to win!
So how do you enter…
All you need to do to enter is send a retirement card to my husband before July 31, 2017. The card can be handmade or store bought. Make sure you include your name and return address on the envelope so I can make sure you are counted (please do not put anything on the card that indicates it is for the giveaway).
This is a surprise and my awesome husband has no idea that I am doing this. 🙂
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will reply with his name and a mailing address.
Thank you so much for helping me let him know how much his service to this country is appreciated!
I am sitting here at 11 at night and thinking about the upcoming week. Christmas is just a few days away. This year it is going to be a bit tough with the kids all grown now and doing their own things. Hopefully next year all of them will be able to fill this house with the laughter and joy that having family near brings.
Ok enough about all that. Are you still trying to finish up your Christmas cards? I have a pretty simple one for you today.
My goal is to share as many as I can before I shift my card making to other holidays.
Easy but elegant Holiday Card
Cut crumb cake cardstock in half with the trimmer
score at the half way mark (your folded card should be 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 inches)
Using the trimmer, cut a piece of the white paper to 4 X 5 1/4 inches
crumple up the coffee filter and dab it onto the green ink pad.
Using the dabbing motion, dab the color onto a piece of white paper. This needs to be large enough for your thinlets to fit.
Continue this same process with the brown ink.. making sure to overlap the green ink.
Using the Big Shot and the dies, cut out 3 pine boughs from the paper you just colored.
From the stamp set, Stamp the word Noel in real red onto the lower right-hand corner of the whisper white cardstock you trimmed earlier.
After the ink has had a chance to dry, go over the letters with the wink of Stella.
Glue the pine boughs into the upper left corner. Any that is hanging off of the paper can be trimmed down.
Wrap gold twine around the card in a crisscross pattern.
